utilizzando il telescopio da 2.5-m f/3.3 di La Palma ( code IAU 950)
scopre un piccolo asteroide dal diametro di circa 50 metri, quando
a</span><span lang="it-IT">v</span><span lang="it-IT">eva una
luminosità di 20.0 mag. successivamente denominato <b>2023 DZ2</b>- (<a class="western" href="https://minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K23/K23F12.html" target="_blank">MPEC
2023-F12</a>)</span></p>
<p style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">L’asteroide
immediatamente balza alla cronaca in quanto entra a far parte degli
oggetti denominati Virtual Impactor (VI) con una probabilità di
colpire la Terra <b>1/621</b> il 27 marzo del 2026, entrando ci di
fatto al secondo posto nella risk list.</p>
<p style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">Immediatamente
l’oggetto viene attenzionato dai principali osservatori e grazia
anche al contributo degli astrofili nel giro di pochi giorni le
probabilità di impatto aumentano, fino a scongiurare tale ipotesi.</p>
<p style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">DZ2 viene catalogato
come NEA di tipo Apollo, a bassa inclinazione, ed il giorno 25 marzo
2023 è passato ad una distanza di soli <b>175.000</b> km,
raggiungendo una luminosità di 11.2 mag.</p>

L'osservazione di questo oggetto aveva un alta priorità sul sito ExoClock Project, ed in archivio risultavano solo 3 misure.</p><p>Il team guidato da<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2205.10197.pdf" target="_blank"> Panahi A. et al</a>. nel maggio 2022 ha annunciato la scoperta di Gaia-1b e Gaia-2b.</p><p>Il pianta ruota intorno alla stella <a href="https://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-id?Ident=UCAC4+448-013340" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #007bff; font-family: Tinos, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">UCAC4 448-013340</a> con massa di 0.949s ed un raggio di 0.952s ed ha una luminosità di 13.195 V mag. con un periodo di 3.05 d. Nel corso del transito, della durata di 2.32 h, la stella diminuisce la sua luminosità di 20.22 mmag. L''esopianeta ha una massa stimata di 1.68 mj ed un raggio di 1.229 rj. <p align="left" lang="zxx">La <strong>CBAT (Central Bureau for
Astronomical Telegrams) </strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">numero</span></strong><strong>
5192</strong> del 20 Novembre 2022 ha annunciato ufficialmente la
natura <u>binaria</u> dell'asteroide (19281) 1996 AP3.</p>
<p lang="zxx">Grazie ad una collaborazione internazionale guidata
dall'astronomo Petr Pravec che conduce la Photometric Survey for
Asynchronous Binary Asteroids è stato possibile determinare il
periodo di rotazione del corpo principale di <strong>2.37256 +/-
0.00010</strong> hr mentre il suo satellite gli ruota intorno in
<b>22,27</b><strong><b> +/- 0.01</b></strong> hr, con una ampiezza
della curva di 0.17 mag.</p>
<p lang="zxx">Il GAMP ha contribuito a questa scoperta, svolgendo su
questo asteroide 7 sessioni osservative nel periodo tra il 17 luglio
ed il 3 agosto 2022, raggiungendo così la quota di 7 asteroidi
binari scoperti finora.</p>

Pettarin conferma l’asteroide inviando altre misure astrometriche e così anche M. Urbanik dal KYSUCE Observatory, Kysucke Nove Mesto (codice MPC G02) in Slovacchia.</p><p>Alle 20.46 UT, Bill Gray del Project Pluto invia alla Mailing List del Minor Planet Center un “allert” invitando tutti gli osservatori europei a riprendere l’asteroide poiché dai calcoli effettuati, il corpo celeste appena scoperto, sarebbe entrato in atmosfera alle ore 21:23 UT, a nord dell’Islanda.</p><p>Gli astrofili Paolo Bacci e Martina Maestripieri del GAMP – Gruppo Astrofili Montagna Pistoiese –, presieduto da Luciano Tesi, dopo aver letto l’allert, immediatamente si mettono all’opera per contribuire a determinare l’orbita di Sar2593. Non essendo in osservatorio a causa delle condizioni meteo non particolarmente favorevoli, decidono di aprirlo comunque a distanza utilizzando il telescopio tramite il sistema di remotizzazione recentemente installato.</p><p>Alle 20.50 UT, il telescopio principale dell’Osservatorio Astronomico della Montagna Pistoiese, struttura del Comune di San Marcello Piteglio, viene così aperto e puntato alle coordinate previste.</p><p>L’incertezza della posizione sulla volta celeste, ha richiesto una concitata e frenetica ricerca, dal momento che l’impatto era imminente.</p><p>Alle ore 21:10:00 nelle immagini catturate dal telescopio da 0.60-m F/4, FOV 35’x35’, risoluzione 2”/pixel, CCD Apogee Alta, compariva improvvisamente la traccia strisciata dell’asteroide che al momento aveva una velocità angolare di ben oltre 4000”/min. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AqtDMEs8XW4" width="320" youtube-src-id="AqtDMEs8XW4"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>Il team del GAMP seguiva per diversi minuti l’asteroide e con stupore e concitazione notava nelle immagini che la traccia si allungava sempre di più, a dimostrazione del fatto che l’oggetto si stava avvicinando progressivamente alla Terra.</p><p>L’ultima immagine catturata dall’osservatorio montano è stata ottenuta alle ore 21:17 UT ovvero 5 minuti prima dell’impatto con la nostra atmosfera ad una velocità di 15Km/sec. e con una velocità angolare di oltre 18000”/min. (ben 36mila volte la velocità angolare di un asteroide della fascia principale).</p><p>Riuscire a osservare un asteroide che sta per impattare col nostro pianeta è stata una grande emozione che ogni ricercatore di questo settore sogna di fare.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; (7132) Casulli è un asteroide di fascia principale scoperto da A.
Vagnozzi il 17 settembre 1993 presso l’osservatorio di Stroncone
(Italia) e prende il nome dal mitico astrofilo Silvano Casulli, il primo
ad aver utilizzato una camera CCD per l’astrometria dei corpi minori.</span></span></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"><span style="color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: "arial", "helvetica", sans-serif;">L’asteroide
era uno dei target fotometrici della campagna fotometrica UAI di
gennaio-marzo e sin da subito le anomale attenuazioni delle curve di
luce che man mano si acquisivano hanno fatto pensare si trattasse di
eventi di eclisse/occultazione da parte di un ipotetico satellite.</span></span></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"><span style="color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: "arial", "helvetica", sans-serif;">Grazie
alla collaborazione di: Lorenzo Franco (A81 – Balzaretto Observatory),
Alessandro Marchini, Giacomo Bonnoli (K54 – Osservatorio Astronomico
Università di Siena), Riccardo Papini (K49 – WBRO Carpione Observatory),
Paolo Bacci, Martina Maestripieri (104 – GAMP), Nello Ruocco (C82
Osservatorio Astronomico Nastro Verde), Nico Montigiani, Massimiliano
Mannucci (A57 – Margherita Hack Observatory), Giulio Scarfi (K78 – iota
Scorpii Observatory) è stato possibile determinate le caratteristiche di
questo sistema binario e pubblicare l’ATel #13590 (<span lang="zxx"><u><a href="http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=13590">http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=13590</a></u></span>). Un bellissimo risultato tutto italiano e tutto in seno ad una collaborazione UAI. </span></span></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"><span style="color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: "arial", "helvetica", sans-serif;">Il
periodo di rotazione dell’asteroide è di 3.5238 +/- 0.0002 ore, mentre
il satellite ruota con un periodo orbitale di 36.54 +/- 0.02 ore. Le due
curve di luce mostrano rispettivamente le variazioni di luminosità
causate dalla rotazione del primario e quelle causate dagli eventi di
eclisse/occultazione del satellite. I due effetti si combinano tra di
loro ed occorre depurarli attraverso i metodi della scomposizione in
serie di Fourier.</span></span></p>

per la Sezione Nazionale di Ricerca Asteroidi della UAI – Unione
Astrofili Italiani – un asteroide mette la coda.</span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">
</span><p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">La segnalazione è arrivata da <b>Roberto Haver</b>
dell’Osservatorio Astronomico di Frasso Sabino (codice mpc 157) che per
primo ha attenzionato l’asteroide A/2019 O3, notando che mostrava una
piccola chioma.</span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">
</span><p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">L’asteroide A/2019 O3 è stato scoperto
il 14/05/2019 dall’osservatorio Palomar Mountain–ZTF (I41) utilizzando
il telescopio da 1.2-m f/2.4 Oschin Schmidt. Nella circolare di
scoperta M.P.E.C. <a href="https://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K19/K19P55.html">2019-P55 </a>dell’
8 agosto 2019 sono presenti ben 5 osservatori italiani che hanno
contribuito a determinare l’orbita preliminare dell’oggetto
provvisoriamente classificato come A/2019 O3.</span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">
</span><p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">Indubbiamente gli elementi orbitali
facevano presupporre che l’oggetto potesse essere effettivamente una
cometa ma nessun osservatorio al momento della scoperta aveva registrato
attività riconducibile ad un oggetto chiomato.</span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">

mezzo della Via Lattea per cui l’osservazione risulta particolarmente
ardua. Roberto invia una mail alla lista asteroidi invitando gli
osservatori a confermare quanto da lui osservato. Il primo a rispondere è
<b>Giorgio Baj</b> dal personale osservatorio M57
Observatory, Saltrio, utilizzando un 0.3-m f/5.5 Ritchey-Chretien
(codice MPC K38), dove segnala “un apparente alone di chioma in P.A.
circa 174 e lungo circa 3.5″/4″, la sera del 19 luglio.</span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">

come mostrato in figura 3 e, anche in questo caso, comunica la sua

nell’oggetto. Questi osservatori inviano le misure al Minor Planet
Center, ma nel frattempo alle ore 23:27 UT esce la circolare <a href="https://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K20/K20O64.html">M.P.E.C. 2020-O64</a>, con la quale si annuncia la <b>scoperta della nuova cometa C/2019 O3 (Palomar), il cui contributo degli astrofili italiani è stato fondamentale. </b></span></p><span style="color: #f3f3f3;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">La </span></span><strong><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>Planetary Society </i></span></span></strong><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">con sede a Pasadena (USA) ha infatti assegnato il prestigioso premio <strong>Shoemaker NEO GRANT 2019</strong>
ai ricercatori del GAMP che, a seguito di un bando internazionale,
hanno ottenuto un finanziamento di 8000 Dollari utili ad incrementare i
risultati scientifici ottenuti per la ricerca di asteroidi
potenzialmente pericolosi. </span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">La </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>Planetary Society </i></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">è
una società che dal 1997 si occupa di incentivare osservatori
meritevoli nel campo della ricerca di asteroidi di tipo NEA (asteroidi
che passano vicino alla Terra), finanziando progetti sia di
professionisti che di astrofili, il cui intento è quello di poter
incrementare le attività finora svolte</span></span><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">
nel monitoraggio e caratterizzazione dei NEA al fine di poter
determinare quale di essi possano essere realmente pericolosi per la
Terra.</span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Il loro programma, denominato <strong>Planetary Defence</strong>, ha ad oggi stanziato 440 mila Dollari distribuiti a 62 vincitori sparsi in tutto il mondo.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Il premio è intitolato a <strong>Eugene Shoemaker</strong>,
geologo statunitense, prematuramente scomparso il 18 luglio 1977.
Shoemaker dimostrò che il più famoso cratere al mondo (Meteor Crater in
Arizona) si è formato a seguito di un impatto asteroidale. Fu inoltre
selezionato per essere il primo scienziato ad andare sulla Luna ma
purtroppo, a seguito di alcuni problemi fisici, non poté partecipare
alle missioni Apollo, pur collaborando all’allenamento degli astronauti
americani. Conosciuto tra l’altro per aver scoperto la <strong>Cometa Shoemaker-Levy 9</strong> che nel 1994 impattò su Giove.</span></span></div>

riconoscimento è stato assegnato all’osservatorio montano a seguito
degli eccellenti risultati ottenuti in 30 anni di attività. La ricerca
sugli asteroidi è iniziata grazie alla passione in questo ambito del
presidente del GAMP, Dott. Luciano Tesi, che ha permesso
all’osservatorio di essere al primo posto in Italia per numero di
asteroidi scoperti (attualmente sono 309), affiancato da Giancarlo
Fagioli ed altri appassionati che nel corso degli anni si sono
succeduti, scoprendo tra l’altro il primo NEA in Italia che è stato
nominato Lucianotesi. L’attività prosegue tutt’oggi grazie al lavoro di
ricerca di Paolo Bacci e Martina Maestripieri che si occupano
soprattutto del follow-up dei NEOCP (asteroidi scoperti dai principali
telescopi professionali e che necessitano di urgenti osservazioni per la
determinazione della loro orbita); in questa attività sono i primi in
Italia e nel 2018, al nono posto a livello mondiale. I ricercatori del
GAMP, grazie a collaborazioni internazionali con astronomi
professionisti, hanno ottenuto importanti pubblicazioni scientifiche,
tra queste spicca l’articolo pubblicato nel 2017 sulla più accreditata
rivista scientifica al mondo, </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>Nature</i></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">,
nel quale si riporta la scoperta dell’anello intorno al pianeta nano
Haumea. Inoltre hanno collaborato alla scoperta di asteroidi binari
ovvero oggetti con una piccola “luna” che ruota intorno al corpo
principale. Altro importante risultato è stato quello della conferma del
primo oggetto interstellare ‘Oumuamua, essendo stati i primi dopo gli
scopritori ad osservarlo ed effettuarne le misure di posizione. A pochi
mesi fa, invece, risale l’osservazione e lo studio sulla prima cometa
interstellare 2I/Borisov, scoperta ad agosto 2019 da un astrofilo della
Crimea.</span></span></div>

permetterà di utilizzare il telescopio da 0.60-m in modo completamente
automatico, dando la possibilità ad alcuni osservatori il diretto
accesso da casa per incrementare l’attività di ricerca o da istituti
scolastici per effettuare progetti didattici.</span></span></div>

CCD astrometrists elsewhere have reported cometary appearance in 2018 DO4.<br />
L. Buzzi, Varese, Italy, reports that stacked images taken with his 0.60-m<br />
f/4.6 reflector on Aug. 30.1 UT show a 15" coma and a tail at least 30" long<br />
in p.a. 282 degrees; the magnitude was measured as 16.6. Buzzi adds that he<br />
measured ninety stacked 15-s images obtained by R. Holmes with a 0.76-m f/3<br />
astrograph at Westfield, IL, USA, on Sept. 4.4, which show an elongated coma<br />
and a broad, curved tail 50" long in p.a. 285 deg; the magnitude was given<br />
as<br />
17.2-17.8. Buzzi further comments on images taken with his 0.60-m reflector<br />
on Sept. 17.1 that show a strongly condensed coma 10" wide (red mag 16.8)<br />
with a broad, fan-shaped tail at least 45" long centered in p.a. 294 deg.<br />
M. Micheli reports that images taken on Sept. 2.63 and 3.63 by K. J. Meech<br />
and J. Kleyna with the 3.6-m Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope at Mauna Kea<br />
show a broad tail about 25" long in p.a. about 300 degrees. W. Ryan notes<br />
that his images taken on Sept. 3.4 with the Magdalena Ridge Observatory<br />
2.4-m reflector show a bright coma with distinct tail in p.a. about 290<br />
degrees. H. Sato, Tokyo, Japan, writes that six stacked 60-s exposures<br />
taken<br />
on Sept. 4.47 with a 0.43-m f/6.8 astrograph near Mayhill, NM, USA, show a<br />
condensed coma 20" in diameter with a fan-like tail 40" long toward p.a.<br />
260-300 degrees; the magnitude was 16.1 as measured within a circular<br />
aperture of radius 11".5.<br />
Twelve co-added 40-s unfiltered exposures taken by T. Chen with a 0.3-m<br />
f/7.2 reflector at Ngari, Tibet, China, in the course of the BIST survey<br />
(cf. CBET 4629) around Sept. 4.89 (and measured by D. W. E. Green) show a<br />
well-condensed coma of size about 7" in 3" seeing, with a faint tail perhaps<br />
15" long in p.a. 267 degrees; the total magnitude was 17.4 in an aperture of<br />
diameter 10". Twenty-four stacked 40-s BIST exposures on Sept. 5.9 show a<br />
well-condensed coma of size 8"-10" in 2".6 seeing, with a faint tail perhaps<br />
15" long fanned in p.a. 251-314 degrees; the total magnitude was 17.0 in an<br />
aperture of diameter 12". Fifteen stacked BIST exposures taken on Sept. 6.9<br />
show a well-condensed coma of size about 7" in 3" seeing, with a faint but<br />
obvious fan tail up to 25" long centered at p.a. about 275 degrees; the<br />
total<br />
unfiltered magnitude was 17.0 in an aperture of diameter 30". Thirty-one<br />
stacked BIST exposures taken on Sept. 7.9 show a well-condensed coma of size<br />
about 8", with a faint but obvious fan tail up to 15" long centered at p.a.<br />
about 275 degrees (fan perhaps 80 degrees wide); the total unfiltered<br />
magnitude was 17.1 in an aperture of diameter 20". Nine stacked BIST<br />
exposures taken on Sept. 8.8 show a condensed coma of size about 9" that is<br />
elongated along p.a. 345/175 degrees, with a faint-but-obvious diffuse tail<br />
up perhaps 20" long centered at p.a. about 280 degrees; the total magnitude<br />
was 16.4 in an aperture of diameter 20". Thirty-three stacked BIST<br />
exposures taken on Sept. 9.9 show a condensed coma of diameter about 10" (in<br />
2".6 seeing) with a faint-but-obvious, diffuse fan tail perhaps 22" long<br />
centered at p.a. about 270 degrees; the total magnitude was 17.3 in an<br />
aperture of diameter 14".<br />
R. Haver writes that twenty-four 90-s exposures taken on Sept. 8.11<br />
with<br />
a 0.37-m f/7 Cassegrain reflector at Frasso Sabino, Italy, shows a coma of<br />
diameter 6".5 and magnitude 16.0; there was a slightly curved fan tail about<br />
45" long in p.a. 287 degrees. Haver's follow-up images on Oct. 6.16 show<br />
total red mag 16.5 with a coma diamete of 10".7 and a curved tail 44" long<br />
in p.a. 292 degrees. S. Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, forwards a report by Y.<br />
Mizuno (Kani, Japan) whose CCD images taken on Sept. 9.73 show magnitude<br />
16.8 and a tail 0.5 degree long in p.a. 270 degrees. F. Kugel reports that<br />
unfiltered CCD images taken on Sept. 12.15 by C. Rinner and himself with a<br />
0.4-m f/2.8 reflector at Dauban, France, show a condensed coma and a broad<br />
tail in p.a. 276 deg. Unfiltered images taken by J.-F. Soulier taken on<br />
Sept. 16.1 with a 0.30-m f/3.8 Newtonian reflector at Maisoncelles, France,<br />
show a coma about 15" in size and a tail about 25" long in p.a. 270-300 deg;<br />
the magnitude was 16.7 in an aperture of radius 6".5. Soulier adds that<br />
exposures taken on Sept. 19.1 show a coma of size about 19" and a tail about<br />
25" long in p.a. 210-300 degrees; the magnitude was about 16.7 in an<br />
aperture<br />
of radius 6".5. Twenty stacked 30-s unfiltered exposures taken remotely on<br />
Sept. 29.34 by E. Guido, Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, with a 0.6-m f/6.5<br />
astrograph at El Sauce Observatory in Chile show a coma nearly 20" in<br />
diameter with a central condensation and a diffuse fan-shaped tail about 45"<br />
long toward p.a. 275 degrees. V. Rumyantsev reports that images taken on<br />
Oct. 2.035 UT with the 2.6-m Shajn telescope of Crimean Astrophysical<br />
Observatory at Nauchny, Crimea, show a bright 14" coma of red mag 17.3 and a<br />
60" tail toward p.a. about 290 deg. Sixty stacked 60-s exposures taken by<br />
P. Bacci, M. Maestripieri, and M. Facchini with a 0.60-m f/4 reflector at<br />
San Marcello Pistoiese, Italy, on Oct. 6.1 show a coma with red mag 15.8 and<br />
a tail 1'10" long in p.a. 302 degrees; they have posted a stacked image of<br />

Additional astrometry has been published on MPEC 2019-T99. The<br />
following<br />
orbital elements by S. Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, are from 374 observations<br />
spanning 2016 Apr. 5-2019 Oct. 2 (mean residual 0".39). The comet passed<br />
2.87 AU from Jupiter on 2017 May 28 UT; its next return to perihelion is<br />
predicted to be on 2147 October 10. No additional observations have been<br />
identified in archival astrometry.<br />

Era richiesta una precisione di 0.02 mag ed almeno 4 ore conseguitve di osservazione.<br />

The primary shows a period of<br />2.72627 +/- 0.00010 hr and has a lightcurve amplitude of 0.10 magnitude at<br />solar phases 4-14 degrees, suggesting a nearly spheroidal shape. Mutual<br />eclipse/occultation events that are 0.05 to 0.12 magnitude deep indicate<br />a secondary-to-primary mean-diameter ratio of 0.24 +/- 0.03.<br />

di San Marcello ( codice MPC104) utilizzando il telescopi da 0.60-m F/4

2”/pixel venivano acquisite immagini con esposizione di 5 minuti
ciascuna. Dopo aver applicato il dark e flat, le immagini venivano
processate con il sofwtare Canopous per determinare la curva di luce.</span></span></strong></div>
